When a family comes to the shelter looking for a dog or puppy to adopt, they want to know about a particular breed's temperament and personality. Naturally, they want to know if a particular dog is going to be a good fit with their family. Is it good with kids? Other dogs? My mother-in-law? The American Kennel Club (A.K.C.) has a great site that provides tons of breed-specific information and a lot more. When you go to the site, click on Breeds in the upper-left corner. Then select either By Name or By Group to find info about the breed in which you're interested.

It amazes me how far people will travel for just the right pet. We get calls and visits from individuals from all over Ohio and requests from rescue organizations throughout the eastern U.S.
I should also mention that the list isn't always up to date, so feel free to call the shelter to see if we still have a particular dog. Our phone number is 937-399-2917, extension 17. Shelter hours are 12-7 pm Monday and 12-5 pm Tuesday through Saturday.
